Wild Orange Essential Oil

Wild Orange was the first essential oil I was introduced to, and it made me realize the power of essential oils. I was given a sample to take for supporting stress from a move. I tried a few drops in water as I was referred to, and I managed to get through the move with a TON of energy. It was a hot weekend in late August and I was surprised that I wasn't tired at all!

That experience is what led me to start educating and sharing about these oils with you here.

That was almost three years ago, and now as I'm moving again to my own apartment this past week, I'm called back to Wild Orange and the power it has for emotional support, positive mood and energy.

In this post, I'm going to share how this oil of abundance helps us move through challenging emotional patterns like anxious feelings and low self-esteem, and how it supports our physical health in immunity and more!

The Chinese were the first to recognize the value of the peel of an orange for treating coughs and colds. Oranges contain tons of Vitamin C which supports immunity, and the essential oil is the most potent extraction from the plant. Wild Orange is found in doTERRA's On Guard Protective line for this reason!

doTERRA sources its Wild Orange essential oil from Brazil and Greece, and it takes about 10 pounds of the rinds to be cold pressed into a 15 ml bottle of oil. Wild Orange essential oil is made up of the chemical constituent myrcene which is cleansing and purifying, making this a great oil to detox with, internally, and cleanse your homes' surfaces with, externally.

Wild Orange also contains limonene, which is unique in that it has both calming and uplifting properties. Making this THE perfect essential oil for anxious and sad feelings!

Taking a few drops in a glass of water internally is my go-to method of using this oil to shift into a positive and energetic mood, especially during times of stress and transition.

When you feel drained or unproductive, Wild Orange is your friend. This oil will give you that boost of continuous energy, and I found this today actually as I was unpacking. I unpacked, cleaned and bought new items for the apartment, and I was starting to feel a little drained.

Instead of taking a nap, which I got into the habit of because of being stressed out at night and falling asleep late, I remembered the trick about Wild Orange and my previous move and took it in my water.

I got a sudden boost of energy and that's how this blog post came to be!

Wild Orange is the oil of abundance, which isn't solely regarding money. It means abundance in creativity, love, and fun. Abundance in spirit leads to abundance in wealth.

Wild Orange can support healing from a workaholic mindset, which is essentially an energy of scarcity. This oil teaches you how to let go of that, and all of its manifestations such as fear, nervousness, inflexibility, workaholism, lack of humor, and essentially, the belief that there's not enough.

In a creative sense, this oil inspires limitless solutions for problems and issues. At our core, we are abundance, and we can live from this space when we're relaxed, playing and enjoying life. Use Wild Orange to be more spontaneous, generous, and happy! And remember to use it during times of stress and for daily emotional management.

Important Note: Like other citrus oils, Wild Orange can cause photosensitivity. When applied topically, be sure to avoid sunlight or UV rays for up to 12 hours after applying Wild Orange oil.

Physical Support

For heartburn and slowish bowels, take in a capsule with ginger oil*
For scurvy and colds, diffuse or apply on bottoms of feet
For menopause, apply to abdomen, pulse points, and diffuse
For detox and regeneration, take in a glass of water or capsule*
For digestive upset due to anxiety, take in a capsule* and inhale from cupped hands
For cooking, add a drop to dishes, frostings and smoothies for a sweet, rich citrus flavor

Emotional Support

For insomnia and stress, diffuse or inhale from cupped hands, take 1-2 drops in 8 oz. water*
For depression, fear, anxiety and irritability, apply under nose or across forehead. Diffuse or inhale from cupped hands
For lack of energy, creativity and productivity, take in a capsule,* apply under nose or diffuse
