Tea Tree essential oil may have grown in popularity in the last 10-20 years (with good reason) but it's been used for centuries by the Australian Aborigines. They would often crush the leaves in their hands and inhale the aroma for colds and illnesses or apply the leaves directly to the skin for a cooling effect.
I'm going to share how this multi-purpose essential oil can be used to support your wellness both emotionally (for energy protection) and physically (for a whole host of areas!). Plus I'll share how it's produced in this post!
Indigenous to Australia, Tea Tree seeds are actually sourced from here and distributed all over the world to grow. doTERRA sources its Tea Tree oil straight from Australia and Kenya, where they have sustainable practices of replanting the distilled trees for future trees. The most potent oil comes from here!

Let's get to these benefits! Tea Tree is widely known for its healthy skin and hair benefits. Different forms of Tea Tree fragrance and synthetic iterations are added to shampoos, body washes, and facial care. You can experience the full benefits of this plant by using the pure form of Tea Tree, adding a few drops of doTERRA Tea Tree to your shampoo, face lotion, and body wash.
Tea Tree is actually found in all of the facial care products at doTERRA, my favorite that I use is the HD Clear system. It's gentle and hydrating, completely plant and essential oil based. Using Tea Tree topically with any skin issues like hives, rashes, cuts, dandruff, lice, cankers, and cold sores. It's one oil I always keep on hand since there's so many ways to use it.
One of my favorite travel hacks is to bring Tea Tree on a flight, as it stops ears from popping. I make a touch roller filled with 20 drops each of Tea Tree and Lavender, then fill the rest of fractionated coconut oil. Use this oil for other ear issues like infection, by applying behind and around ears.
Tea Tree is anti-fungal and anti-parasitic, so if you have any of these conditions and its symptoms like athletes foot, canker sores, and candida, apply directly to area and take a few drops internally in a veggie cap.* It's found in the parasitic cleanse supplement, GX Assist®, and the cleansing blend Purify, which is used to clear pathogens in your home and air.
In an emotional way, Tea Tree also protects from parasitic and codependent relationships. It's the oil of energetic boundaries, and clears negative energetic boundaries. Because of this emotional toxicity, you may feel drained of life force energy. The toxic relationships may be with people, microorganisms in the body, or spiritual beings.
As an empath, I wear this oil every single day. I apply it to my neck, over my heart, and on my wrists. It helps empower you by letting go of all forms of self-betrayal, like allowing people to take advantage of your time, energy or talents. If you have trouble with boundaries, or letting others feed on your energy and not standing up for yourself, this oil is for you.
