Thyme is widely known for its culinary uses, but Thyme essential oil has been used since ancient times in a variety of ways to support physical and emotional well-being.

In the medieval times, women gave Thyme to knights before they went into battle because it was believed to provide courage. Thyme was recorded in one of the oldest Egyptian scientific papyrus on record, dating back to 1550 BC. Thyme means "to fumigate" in Greek, and this speaks to its high concentration of antioxidants.

Due to its chemical makeup, Thyme essential oil is an invigorating oil that can be used anytime during the day when a boost of energy is needed, especially if you're affected by fatigue or sad feelings. Thanks to its concentration of p-cymene, this essential oil supports cellular health, which is why it's found in doTERRA's cellular blend, DDR Prime.

Thyme essential oil also combats the overgrowth of candida parasite on a holistic level, especially when mixed with Basil and Tea Tree and taken internally in a veggie cap.*

This herbaceous and medicinal oil supports a healthy immune system and clears respiratory pathways, making it a great choice to overcome a cold and virus, or a sore throat. This hot oil helps heal from low blood pressure, when applied diluted to bottoms of feet.

Sore muscles? Rub in a few drops of Thyme essential oil mixed with fractionated coconut oil. This oil can irritate skin, so make sure to dilute it when applying it topically.

Thyme essential oil also balances hormones, by stimulating progesterone production. This helps to treat or relieve health issues like infertility, PCOS, menopause, fibroids, hair loss and insomnia.

Emotionally, Thyme is the oil of releasing and forgiving. I've used it this way myself and with my clients and colleagues, and it's allowed us to release any lingering grudges we have, which ultimately block us from love. Diffuse a few drops in the diffuser before bed and wake up feeling lighter.

Thyme essential oil is one of the most powerful cleansers of our emotional body, and releases emotions we didn't know were trapped and buried in our system. In this way, Thyme brings old and stagnant feelings to the surface to be healed. If you have any toxic emotions of hate, anger, rage and resentment, Thyme will help you release them.

Thyme will clear negativity out, and allow you to move forward to be forgiving and tolerant. That's why it's found in doTERRA's Forgive Renewing blend, which is one of the first oils I tried and that I still use most days to let go of lingering anger and resentment to transform it into love.

Thyme essential oil is one of the most powerful oils out there, and I find myself using it frequently in the above ways. Add it to your collection today!
