Anxiety is on the rise, and it's no wonder, considering our present society, its state of affairs, and this transitory period in the world at large.
Having experienced anxiety throughout my life, it got much worse in the last few years going through transitions. When using traditional allopathic treatment didn't help, I decided to take matters into my own hands to manage and heal this in myself: holistically.
Holistic means considering separate parts as whole. In this way, factors in mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual bodies each play an equal role in maintaining peace and balance in your life.
As an integrative (which means holistic) wellness guide, I learned how to approach each body system along with ways to balance them. Integrative medicine can combine holistic natural medicine with allopathic treatment if that's ever needed, it's not meant to replace it.
When there is an imbalance in one system, there is an imbalance in all systems.
After going the conventional medicine route for a couple years, taking prescription medication and not seeing the results I wanted (actually feeling more anxious), I looked for natural and most importantly effective ways to manage the anxiety I felt.
So I looked at my diet, exercise routines, spiritual life, emotion release modalities and patterns, and thought life.
I started using essential oils for grief and depression I was experiencing, and I didn't expect to see such great results. I felt empowered, I felt calm and I felt that the oils were supporting a peaceful state of mind and well-being.
After just a couple of months of using just two blends (doTERRA's Peace and Forgive), I knew I didn't need to take the conventional psychoactive medication any longer that I had been prescribed a few years ago. This was an amazing breakthrough at a time when I was frustrated with not having medicine that work and anxiety that didn't seem to dissipate.
It's important to note, the essential oils don't do our work for us. They facilitate it. I was seeing a therapist for a couple years (I stopped around the time I went of the medication), was a member at a meditation society where I went weekly, practiced yoga and running, and I changed my diet to gluten free and vegan. The oils created the peace and balance I was looking for create that inner state of calm, in conjunction with other tools.
Now I volunteer and meditate for free at the society I first joined, I still do yoga and run, I eat a vegan and gluten free diet, and I've upped my spiritual practices which has brought me the most peace and clarity. I eat less packaged foods, no gluten, no dairy, little sugar, and drink tea only limiting my caffeine intake - this has helped so much.
I also decided to stop drinking alcohol or using drugs, mostly because at first I was taking the psycho-active medication and it didn't mix well at all with them. I knew that I was using these to alleviate the anxiety. The meds only amplified the anxiety and depression I was feeling, so I'm grateful to have been on the medication for the time that I was in order to let alcohol and drugs go.
There are specific essential oils that help ease symptoms of anxiety, by calming mental chatter, relaxing the body which then relaxes the mind, and that boost mental clarity and optimism. This in effect rewrites your neural pathways to become adapted to respond to stress productively over time. Essential oils are 40-60 times more potent than herbs alone, so they are more powerful than tinctures, teas, and plants themselves.
I use these natural plant based oils as my new 'medicine' and apply them daily in the same manner.
You can apply them on temples, neck, and bottoms of the feet for quick results.
It really is that easy.

So many factors come into play with anxiety, including: trauma, not being taught the tools to cope emotionally, parenting, situational reasons and much more. I'm here to say I've been able to overcome this and so will you! Anxiety is no longer taboo and everyone needs to find inner peace and balance in order to lead elevated, fulfilling and authentic lives.
One important thing I've learned, is that denying anxiety causes it to come back tenfold. Conversely, when anxiety has too much power it hinders us from taking action in the things we want to do. The best relationship to anxiety is one that accepts that it is there first, in order to release it and manage it on an ongoing basis.
The best way is to reach balance by taking steps to create balance in each body system: mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual.

Here are the top doTERRA essential oils and blends I use for anxiety:
Peace Reassuring Blend: A blend of Lavender, Vetiver, Ylang Ylang, Frankincense, Clary Sage, Marjoram, Spearmint) No matter what is happening in life, this blend helps release fear and worry and brings a sense of a safety and security to heal. I came off of prescription medication (Zoloft) in 2017 by using Peace and Forgive.
Forgive Renewing Blend: A beautiful blend of Spruce Leaf, Bergamot Peel, Juniper Berry Fruit, Myrrh Resin, Arborvitae Wood, Nootka Tree Wood, Thyme Leaf, and Citronella Herb. Have doTERRA Forgive on hand throughout the day to counteract negative emotions that may arise from undesirable situations.
Cedarwood: The oil of community, it's incredibly calming and grounding. It also encourages you to lean on your support system which can be difficult to do when you are experiencing anxiety. I like to diffuse this during the day and at night.
Balance Blend: An amazing blend of Spruce Leaf, Ho Wood Leaf, Frankincense Resin, Blue Tansy Flower, Blue Chamomile Flower, and Osmanthus Flower essential oils in a base of Fractionated Coconut Oil. I use this on the bottoms of my feet each morning to get grounded.
Serenity Restful Blend and Softgels. I like to take 1 softgel for when anxiety hits and I need a larger dosage. Serenity is a blend of Lavender Flower, Cedarwood, Ho Wood Leaf, Ylang Ylang Flower, Marjoram Leaf, Roman Chamomile Flower, Vetiver Root, Vanilla Bean Absolute, Hawaiian Sandalwood.
Copaiba and Softgels. Same here, I normally take 2 drops of Copaiba under the tongue each day. This has the same effects of CBD on our endocannibinoid system, without the potential to be affected by lingering THC! doTERRA just rolled out softgels of this oil so taking them this way will be equally as powerful and easier on the go.
Wild Orange: I love to use Wild Orange in the diffuser with Balance. This helps with serotonin levels and mental optimism and clarity.
